The story of Base360

Base360 grew out of
The Flex’s daily work.

  1. 2019 · London

    The Flex began with
    a few homes in London.

    Raouf Yousfi and Michael Buggy founded The Flex in London to offer furnished homes for people staying for weeks or months. They started with a few apartments. Raouf moved furniture and met guests himself.

  2. Growing beyond London

    The Flex grew,
    and so did the work.

    The Flex expanded into Paris, Lisbon and Algiers. Managing more homes exposed the limits of manual pricing, spreadsheets and disconnected tools. The team needed better ways to keep bookings and daily operations in sync.

  3. Building our own software

    The Flex built software
    to run its operations.

    Alongside the tools we already used, we developed our own system to connect property data and automate daily work. That internal platform became Base360, shaped by the needs of the people running The Flex.

  4. 2025 · Introducing Base360

    That software became
    Base360 for other operators.

    In 2025, we began offering the platform we had built at The Flex to other rental businesses. Base360 became a company in its own right that August, bringing our operating experience into a product other teams could use.

    Base360 now helps teams

    Base360 brings guest communication, check-in, cleaning, payments and workflows into one platform. We continue to build it around a practical goal: give rental teams less routine work and more time for their guests and business.

What experience does the team bring to Base360?
Our team brings together hands-on operating experience at The Flex and technology company-building experience. Base360 co-founder Raouf Yousfi previously co-founded Terra API, part of Y Combinator’s Winter 2021 batch. That experience informs how we build Base360 today.
Does The Flex actually use Base360?
Yes. The Flex runs its homes on Base360, so the product is used on real bookings, guests and cleans every day.
The Flex is an operator too. Can it see my data?
No. The Flex is one operator on Base360, in its own account, exactly like you. Every company's account is kept separate, so your properties, guests, messages, prices and numbers never appear in The Flex's account or anyone else's. Inside yours, your team sees only what you allow.
Why did you build Base360?
Running The Flex showed us how much work falls between separate tools and teams. We started Base360 to connect that work and build an AI autopilot around the way businesses actually operate.
